L'HEURE VIDE HUMANITAIRE - Venezuelan refugees

While travelling through South America by car we crossed the border of Ecuador and Colombia in Rumichaca. There we saw so many Venezuelan refugees in such great misery without the help they needed, that we decided to stay. We started this NGO, and have been working together succesfully with local and international organizations to give them the help they need. Please visit us at: www.lheurevidehumanitaire.orgInstagram: L'HEURE VIDE humanitaire L’HEURE VIDE humanitaire is a small network-based NGO focused on short-term projects in emergency situations involving refugee issues worldwide. Our approach is to assist existing humanitarian aid structures and local associations and to supplement them when their opportunities to act are limited or restraint. Our aim is not to direct or to implement. We are there to help. This approach ensures that we can focus on what is needed on the ground and in the now to fill the gaps in aid left by big organizational structures and complex international policy. As a small and nimble organization, we are not limited by bureaucracy or massive overhead. This allows us to concentrate our efforts where we excel: organizing the available resources in a hands-on, creative way to produce tangible results quickly and effectively. Help fund a cochlear implant surgery for 18 month old baby

Raising a funding campaign as I came across the story of Marc Alexander, 18 month baby boy born in Haiti and diagnosed bilaterally deaf (both ears). Long story short, Haiti does not have the proper medical infrastructure and the government support to help this little boy get a cochlear implant surgery that would give him the ability to hear and speak. The longer he waits to get the implant, the more irreversible speech and development delay will occur. This would cost USD 30,000 including a trip abroad to get the surgery done (I myself have done research for my daughter and no kidding, it really cost that much). I spoke to his mother who didn't know what to do and who to turn to, and I felt the need to help them. As a French national and a Hong Kong resident , and as a mother of a 6 months deaf baby myself, my family is fortunate enough to have access to the best-in-class health support, excellent medical care and infrastructure ...and this is all (or almost) FREE!! We tend to forget how lucky we are. This little boy does not share our luck. Please take some time to read his story, DONATE and SHARE THIS POST to help him get access to a cochlear implant surgery, this amazing, life changing technology that will give him back the gift of hearing and speech.Carine Story of Marc Alexandre: Hello everyone. We are Kamaïa and Darlin Jeanty, parents of 18 months old Marc-Alexandre. We live Haiti, one of the most under-developed country in the world. We suspected the deafness of our son when he was 2 months and a half, as he was not reacting to sound. Due to lack of medical resources and infrastructure in Haiti, we were unable to obtain a diagnosis right away. When Marc-Alexandre turned 12 months old, we had been recommended to have him checked out in Republic Dominican. Without a second of hesitation, we took out all of our savings and bought a flight for the 3 of us to go meet an ENT specialist there. The results were devastating: Marc-Alexandre was diagnosed bilaterally deaf (both ears). We were not sure what to do or where to turn. We do not know if he would ever say, "I love you Mommy and Daddy." We have prayed for a happy, productive life for Marc-Alexander, and we want him to go to school and someday graduate from university to pursue a career and a life that he chooses. The ENT was adamant that our son needed cochlear implants; Implanting Marc will give him access to sound which will provide him with the only chance of age-appropriate speech and language development. This will provide him the opportunity to a better education and independent employment as an adult in the future. If not implanted, it may lead to permanent changes in the auditory cortex in the brain which may make it impossible to benefit from a cochlear implant or any form of hearing restoration surgery in the future. The cochlear implant bypasses the damaged portions of the ear and directly stimulates the auditory nerve. The signals are generated by the implant and are sent passed the auditory nerve to the brain where the signals are recognised as sounds. However, the cochlear implants will cost USD$30,000 as we do not have insurance and there is no government social subsidy or help of any kind. We are raising money to pay for medical expenses including surgery, cochlear implant device, and a trip abroad for the surgery.Marc is growing up and as his parents; we know we have to do something. The only future for our son is to hear with cochlear implants. Just like everyone else, we want to give him the best possible future there is.Life is so precious and this innocent boy who deserves the right to live normally. In advance, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your incredible moral and financial support. Thank you for helping us change the life of our child. Kamaïa and Darlin Jeanty

Marco & Thijs - Bike4Kika

All, This summer (4th August) myself and my son Thijs will be biking ~1000km from Oberrieden, Switzerland to Schagen, the Netherlands. We will be following the river Rhein all the way to the Netherlands. We aim to complete the bike tour in 10 days. We are doing this to raise money for child cancer research. Reason we are doing this is that a little over a year Thijs’s grandad passed away from cancer. I also had cancer and was lucky enough to survive, as such we want to do what we can to help other people that have cancer. Every little bit helps. All the money donated will go 100% to KIKA, which has been set up in 2002 to fund innovative research for Child Cancer. Treatments have significantly improved but still 1 in 4 children, diagnosed with cancer dies. The charity’s aim is to increase the survival rate of children suffering from cancer from 75% to 95% by 2025. They aim to do this by funding scientific research, improving treatments (less pain, higher cure rate and improved quality of life), concentrating expertise and treatment for children to accelerate experience. We hope you want to support with us this cause as no one especially not a child, should have to die from cancer. Thank you!Thijs & Marco

Support for Aelfin Michel

Aelfin Michel - Critical Condition - Hua Hin, ThailandSadly, on December 31st, Aelfin tragically crashed on a motorbike causing him to suffer severe head and face trauma. Aelfin is currently in ICU under 24 hours medical care and constant support. When Aelfin arrived in emergency he required immediate surgery to remove bleeding on the brain and had part of his skull removed, which will need to be replaced with titanium. His jaw and teeth were severely smashed which will require surgery, as well as other serious facial and head injuries. Unfortunately this is a very critical situation. Due to the severity of his head injuries he has had many operations to date and requires many more, plus 24 hours support and months (if not years) of therapy. The latter is not yet known as we are currently taking it day by day, knowing that each day is a miracle. Aelfin is a fighter and at every set back he is fighting to stay here with us. For those that know him will know his determination and stubbornness. This trait is shining through in his fight for his life. This gives us hope. Holding onto this hope and knowing that Aelfin will keep on fighting, there is a long and very expensive battle ahead of us. He requires many more surgeries, and unfortunately at this stage, we are unsure of the extent of damage and rehabilitation required. We urgently ask all of you to help support Aelfin and his mother, Emma, with the extensive ongoing medical costs and medical care that Aelfin needs now and for the coming months. ALL of the funds donated will be used to cover Aelfin's hospital bills, medical and rehabiliation expenses. We would like to express our gratitude for your kind donations to the SUPPORT AELFIN FUND. Best regards,Aelfin's support team

Help us to power 20 civilian bomb shelters in Ukraine!

Help us to power 20 civilian bomb shelters in Ukraine!

The russo-Ukrainian war is marking 2 months on 24th April 2022. Millions of Ukrainians are displaced, thousands of homes are destroyed, and thousands of us are dead. The city of Mariupol, previously home to 500 000 people - roughly the size of Antwerp in Belgium - doesn’t exist anymore. With the second phase of the war raging in the East of Ukraine, we are asking for your help to provide power generators to civilian bomb shelters and hospitals in Ukraine - approximately 1000 EUR can save lives of hundreds of people. One generator provides enough power for the basic electricity to power medical equipment, such as newborn wards, electric stoves for cooking food and communications devices.Who are we?Ukrainian and Dutch colleagues working for Salesforce in The Netherlands and Ireland. How many generators do we need?A LOT. But we want to bring at least 20 in the next two weeks, which means we need to collect 20 000 EUR.How will it arrive in Ukraine?this is not our first rodeo. We have been partnering with local Dutch NGOs and logistic companies to deliver help to Ukraine and created an efficient and fast supply of goods. How much should you donate?anything you can, every little donation helps. For example, what’s your guilty pleasure? Give it up for a week or a month and donate the equivalent of the saved amount. What else can you do?please share this fundraising page with your colleagues and partners. We want to reach as many people as possible to purchase the generators ASAP. Should we overachieve the 20k EUR target, then we could buy more generators and water filters, which are also critical for Ukrainians.Who are we (click on the link)?Anastasia Drey: LINKEDINBenedikt Herudek: LINKEDINRemko Reinders: LINKEDINMorena Artist Timas: LINKEDINMarco Teulings: LINKEDINNatalia Aliabyeva: LINKEDINUkraine became the capital of brave people, help the people to survive the war!

1.500 Euro Summe = 8.500 Euro

Help us save MALDIVE PASSIONS Dive School

Help us save MALDIVE PASSIONS Dive School

Please help us getting through the corona virus crisis !! My name is Marc Pomel, Managing Director of MALDIVES PASSIONS Dive School, on the local island of Maafushi. MALDIVES PASSIONS Pvt, Ltd. has been registered as a company in July 2011, and was the achievement of a dream made 9 years previously by myself & Adham, my Maldivian business partner. This dream was made possible thanks to a new policy from the Maldivian government (back in 2008) promoting a new type of tourism, based on local islands instead of private resort islands. On local islands, you could be in contact with the population, interacting with them, sampling the authentic Maldivian culture and making sure that every single dollar you spent would benefit the locals instead of some big international resort companies.MALDIVES PASSIONS was the 1st dive school to open in Maafushi, the 1st ever local island to embrace local tourism. For almost 9 years, we managed to be ranked #1 attraction by TRIPADVISOR, to be the Award Winner of TRAVEL & HOSPITALITY, and to be the "Learning Experience of the Year" by LTG GLOBAL AWARDS. During this time, we also got deeply involved with the local community, bringing countless unemployed youngsters to diving professional level, conducting regular beach & lagoon clean-ups with school kids & tourists, organizing fundraising for the local school, setting-up numerous marine environment awareness program (with both kids & adults), and creating a coral growing project in Maafushi’s lagoon in conjunction with the Island Council. Unfortunately, all this is now in jeopardy, due to the current pandemic. The international airport was closed from the 19th of March with the whole country fully quarantined, and small business like us left high & dry with no income & no help whatsoever from the government. Furthermore, we had to move to a new place early in February, thus facing significant costs & expenses in the relocating process. All those factors contributed to the fact that ran out of money, so from last April onward, we were not able to pay our staff anymore. We had to temporarily lay off some of them, who returned to their home islands & families already, but 4 of our staffs (with no other place to go) were forced to remain with us in Maafushi. Although we can't give them any salary, we are still trying to bear the cost for their accommodations, food, and the utility bills (water, electricity & internet). Therefore, I am humbly requesting your help to face those expenses until business resume (supposedly on the 1st of November), and until we financially stable enough once more. Here is a breakdown of the incurred costs for your information: * Food cost is 170 USD/person/month for a total of 680 USD* Accommodation discounted rent rate is 550 USD per month* Average monthly water bill is around 330 USD, and electricity is about 260 USD.* Internet fee is 70 USD/month Therefore, we are looking at a grand total of 1890 USD/ month. Please, help us to keep the dream alive, as without you, we will be forced to sell everything & close down MALDIVES PASSIONS permanently. Anything you can spare & give will be very much appreciated, no matter how small your contribution. To show you our gratitude, and as a small gesture of recognition, we will be glad to offer a free fun dive, and an additional 10% discount to any contributor coming to Maafushi. Thank you very much for your help & kind consideration. Warmest Regards.Marc Pomel & team.

Barbara_____________________________Dear all, you are receiving this letter because I trust you, and you trust me, and I know I can open my heart and share with you what I am going to write. On June 19, 2002, a Rose has been cut by falling from a poorly maintained staircase leading to the tracks of the Roma Nomentana railways station. Rose, our mother, left a void in me and my siblings, she was 59 years old. I could tell you about this Rose, a kind, humble but strong woman, who raised her three children on her own throughout a life of commitment and work. Rose, like all mothers, had plans. She dreamed of helping a daughter, Giancarla, in difficulty, with three children and a violent husband from whom she was separating. She wanted to attend the graduation of his second daughter, Barbara. She hoped for a more certain future for Cesare, who had decided to quit school. Who knows what her last thought was, maybe she thought of us, her children? Of her grandchildren? And then that staircase, that took from her her life and all her dreams. Today, after 17 years, another struggle is affecting us three children, Rose's orphans. Justice, courts, bureaucracy, do not care about sorrow and broken dreams. In a trial the departed have no voice. And so it happens that today, according to a sentence that I do not understand, it's us, Rose's three children, who have to pay for that accident. I therefore ask you for your help. For us it is a new moment of discouragement, sorrow, grief, and we feel neglected and powerless. On my side, I asked the involved company we have to financially compensate to eventually donate this sum to a charity organization. This sum amounts to € 15,000, that they reclaim to cover the legal expenses they had due to the trial we children lost against them. I wish all this would turn into a support to a Family Home helping mothers in difficulty (just like my Rosa). In this way the grief and memory of our mother would become an act of love and the beginning of another dream. But before getting to this point, we children have to collect the 15.000€ that the company is claiming from us. Be sure that if we had won the trial and if we had received a financial compensation for our broken Rose, this is what we would have done: starting a project, 'Villa Rosa', a family home in honor of our mother. Each of you can make a difference. You can make a difference by helping me and my family with this fundraiser. Thank you!BARBARA

A call for help for Martin Veise

A call for help for Martin Veise

HELP! No help for severely disabled during COVID19.This post is NOT about the Coronavirus, but about how the system may withdraw help from the weakest citizens. While @Xavier Bettel promises unlimited resources to cover those who will fall out of their jobs due to COVID19, severely handicapped and the weakest citizens lose all help, regardless of their individual situation, condition and dependence.I express my gratitude towards the public initiatives during the pandemic and I am sincerely happy for those who will get financial aid in case of employment termination. So, briefly, here’s what I’m talking about:My uncle, @Martin, suffered a massive brain stroke in November 2018. The stroke was *not* threated by the Robert Schuman Hospital that Martin was taken to. Martin was left paralyzed down through his left side and with severe cognitive damages. Essentially Martin’s wife Anne and his four kids lost him that day. Martin is not even remotely the same person anymore. After being left untreated under miserable conditions at the hospital for a month, Martin was transferred to the Rehazenter. I have previously written about the conditions at the hospital and Rehazenter here: lux-patient.com, and won’t get into the details of the disastrous conditions at the two institutions.*I would however like to underline, that Martin was declared traumatized by his stay at the Rehazenter.*-> This means, that the conditions were so extremely miserable at the Rehazenter, that Martin’s condition as a patient not only declined severely, but additional damage was added to his brain.Martin received 2 months of rehabilitation in Denmark. One of the two months spent de-traumatizing him... After the two months, Martin was dispatched with a comprehensive report explaining his needs as a patient and how he should receive further treatment. The conclusion of the report is clear - Martin still needs intensive rehabilitation in order to be able to live the rest of his life at an acceptable standard. Acceptable standard defined by being able to walk or go to the toilet for example.Martin has been home in Luxembourg since August and has not received rehabilitation since then. Myself and Anne was taking care of Martin at home throughout August and September - the report *clearly* states that Martin needed help 24/7. Practically this means that he needs a team of nurses around him, as well as physiotherapists, ergo therapists, a psychologist and/or psychiatrist and a doctor with neuroscientific knowledge.Despite the urgency, we were not able to get a meeting with Assurance Dependance before October. The amount of responsibility for such a weak patient, with such needs, is beyond comprehensible. My aunt Anne is doing blood tests, regulating blood thinning medicine and all other medications for Martin. After tasting the mud of rock bottom, we at least got some help assigned by Assurance Dependence and by the end of 2019 Martin could start going to a daycare facility in Rollingergrund. *This help has been withdrawn with effect from march 17th, 2020.*Martin hasn’t had a shower for almost a week now. Martin has still not had a chance to rehabilitate. Anne is taking care of Martin 24/7, while trying to homeschool their 3/4 kids who are still in school. No help is provided.ZERO.I would like to underline, that we have not received ANY proactive help from the authorities. This includes any and all doctors we have been in touch with and the health authorities / CNS.You must fight for what you are entitled to by law and you must figure that out yourself. No guidance has been offered at ANY point since November 2018. We had to proactive ask for information about the stroke itself, the further process, what could be done etc.On top of the described problems, there’s no help to get from any authority. We have contacted every instance we could, as well as the Family minister, who referred back to the Rehazenter for help.As a patient, you have a LOT of additional expenses and the public coverage does not correspond to your normal salary, so effectively it means that you will have much less cash available. Now, one should think, that the loss of a husband and father to 4 should be more than enough to work with and that financial troubles should be the least to worry about. This is not the case in this country. Should you be as unlucky as my uncle, Martin, you WILL have a reduced income and much higher expenses. The social authorities cannot offer any help financially, as we are too well off. They recommend that we move out of the country, regardless of 3 of the 4 children being born and raised here. The banks wont extend credit as we are way too poor. The European school will not offer ANY deduction in their school fees. Changing school wouldbe incredible hard for the youngest kids and they would lose 2 years of their respective life’s due to the new language they’d need to adapt to.The insurance has covered absolutely nothing during all this. And I can list example after example. Now, what undeniably will happen, UNLESS something is being done, is that my family will be forced out of the country due to the lack of help from the government, despite contributing to the society for almost 20 years. This would mean that Anne and her 4 kids have lost their husband and father, that the kids will have to change school during their grief and give up 2 years of their life, the family will be forced to leave their home and attempt to successfully move WHILE taking care of a 24/7 patient who needs intensive rehabilitation AND homeschooling 3 kids. This isn’t possible.Let me get to my final words for this round.Imagine yourself in the same situation. Imagine that your spouse, or child, or parent suffers a massive stroke and you would have to go through the same. Imagine, if you had to see your dearest being unable to move or speak, yet being severely mistreated. Imagine loosing your home and telling your children, that they’d have to move school knowing that it costs 2 years of their lives. It’s a horrible thought... and living it is worse. We have literally tried to seek help from the authorities in ANY way possible and we don’t know how to get help at this point. Here’s what you can do to help us:* You can share this post to spread the word* Those who would like to help us financially can donate through this link: https://www.leetchi.com/c/martinveiseThe fundraiser has been requested by several friends of the family. We are forever grateful for the support that you are all giving. This is bright light during dark times. Lastly, I’d like to mention, that the during the last meeting we had with a social worker, it was proposed that we have friends or family take care of Martin on weekends, so that Anne and the KIDS?! Could work. The youngest boys are 12 years of age. We reminded her that we live in 2020 and not 1920 and she then took that back. She had absolutely no words or advice to give. This clearly suggest how dire this situation is...The above is me objectively documenting our situation. I am working on a comprehensive complaint to the court of human rights as well as the EU. This entails detailed information and documentation as well as evidence supporting the potential breaches of law.My recommendation: Hedge yourself. This is real and can happen to anyone. My sincerest gratitude and appreciation towards those who decided to help and especially those who continue to provide help!

Une cagnotte pour aider les plus démunis / Raising money to help those most affected by the confinementPOUR QUI? / FOR WHOM?* Le confinement affecte particulièrement durement les plus démunis: les fonds de cette collecte seront directement affectés à parts égales à deux associations qui se mobilisent pour l'aide alimentaire d'urgence aux sans-abris et aux plus pauvres: la Fondation Abbé Pierre en France et Action Homeless au Royaume-Uni.* Confinement affects particularly harshly the poorest: the funds collected here will be directly transferred in equal share to two associations that deliver emergency food support to the homeless and the poor: the Abbé Pierre Foundation in France and Action Homeless in the UK.DE QUOI S'AGIT-IL? Merci d'avance pour votre générosité!* On 26 April 2020, I was scheduled to run the London Marathon. Following its cancellation, I decided instead to run on that day my own marathon (solo, of course!) around the Bedok Reservoir in Singapore, and to make it a fundraising event for the poorest victims of the crisis. I aim to collect over €3000 for this cause. Because a marathon is a race after all, I set myself the goal of finishing under 3h30'. (For context: in five "tropical marathons" so far, I have never done this; my fastest time was 3h35', and that was back in 2013! Since then: 3h51', 4h01', 3h41', 3h55). I commit to doubling your pledge if I don't meet my goal... however if I do meet it, I will ask you to consider doubling yours!

Tarcice ESSON An adapted vehicle for Tarcice My name is Tarcice, i'm born the 26th of April 1977, i work part-time in a private company and i spend the rest of my time doing sport and volunteering. I'm part of an association that defend women with cancer; i like spend my time for human cause because give a part of myself to others is the greatest happiness for me and for these people.I have also a little feature: i'm disabled moter since i'm 2 years old and i move with a wheelchair; that's the little plus that life gave me and i'm happy with it. However, all my moves in public transports take twice time than a valid person: buses and subways aren't always equipped for people in wheelchair like me.That's why i've decided to pass the driving licence but i can't drive a "normal" car. That's the reason why i created this page to raise funds in order to help me to buy an adapted car for my disability. I already raise 18 500€ (21 500$ US) but the car cost 43 500€ (50 700$ US) so i need 23 250€ (29 000$US) more to buy it. Each gift, whatever the gift, can do the difference! So don't hesitate to follow and help me!Thanking you from the bottom of my heart!Tarcice ESSON
